Help me identify and support neurodivergent learners

“How do I know if my students are neurodivergent? And how can I support them in a busy classroom, without extra help?”

Around 1 in 5 learners are neurodivergent. Most won’t have a formal diagnosis—and many never will. Cost, access to specialists, and whānau circumstances are real barriers.

You might never know exactly what’s behind a student’s behaviour. But you can stay curious.

You don’t need specialist tools or extra funding. You can make a difference through small, practical shifts—built into everyday teaching.

Here are some simple, practical resources to help you get started.
