RNZ interview with Nellie McKegg

Writer: Radio NZRadio NZ

10 to 20% of New Zealand’s young people are neurodiverse. They have brains wired to think, learn, perceive the world and feel differently from neurotypical people.

On Thursday 16 March 2023, we, along with the Dyslexia Foundation of NZ, Autism New Zealand, and ADHD NZ Association, launched the Neurodiversity in Education Coalition at Parliament!

Together, we are ensuring that the needs of neurodiverse students in the education system are on the agenda this election.

Māni Dunlop of RNZ spoke to one of the YOung neurodiversity Champions group leaders, Nellie McKegg, who told her about the struggle for neurodiverse students.
