MindPlus Online - Header.jpg

Join other gifted learners from all over NZ for one online session a week, led by our specialist teacher.

MindPlus Online brings our proven MindPlus programme to gifted learners wherever they are.  Our students meet together with their like-minded peers and their specialist teacher online for a 30 minute live and interactive session, either during the school day or after school. Students then work independently on our MindPlus Learning Platform with their work introduced and supervised by their MindPlus teacher.

Students usually set aside a half day each week - at school or at home - for their MindPlus session and work time. This can be split over the week.

What do parents say?

"We’ve found that the mainstream doesn’t really cater to kids like Arahi - they just don’t have enough time to extend him beyond the basics into things like art and science. We live rurally so being able to access the quality education that MindPlus gives us to supplement his schoolwork has been really really good"

Who is MindPlus Online for?

MindPlus Online is for students who don’t live near one of our units or who are not keen or able to leave school to go to MindPlus.

MindPlus Online is also a great option for home-schooled students to engage with a specialist teacher and work with a diverse range of like-minded students.

Students waiting for an OurSchool place can choose to join the Online programme while they wait (depending on availability).

How do kids access
MindPlus Online?

Some of our students do Online at school, with the support of their classroom teacher. Our MindPlus Online teacher is very happy to engage with and update the child’s classroom teacher to create continuity between MindPlus and school and to discuss strengths and challenges.

Other Online students are home-schooled and do MindPlus as part of their regular school work.

Some students do MindPlus Online at home as an extra activity because they need more than what’s on offer at school.

How do I refer a student
to MindPlus Online?

You can share information on MindPlus Online with the child’s whānau and suggest the programme as an option. The application process needs to be initiated by the child’s whānau - see here for details.

Do familarise yourself with our other MindPlus programme options - OurSchool and YourSchool - so that you can help the whānau assess what might best suit their needs in terms of logistics, costs and other preferences. Is it possible for your school to offer MindPlus YourSchool so that all your gifted and neurodivergent students can access specialist support without extra fees?
