YNC 2024 Neurodiversity Hui Highlights

On Friday, 19 July 2024, hundreds of neurodivergent young people and their supporters gathered at Parliament for the Young Neurodiversity Champions Hui. ​

The event featured speeches from neurodivergent leaders, Mayor Tory Whanau, and Chlöe Swarbrick MP; inspiring stories and advocacy from the Young Neurodiversity Champions; and a Changing The Game politicians panel featuring the Minister for Mental Health and Youth and the Labour and Green spokespeople for education. ​

We urged our politicians to take immediate action to support neurodiversity in education, calling for improvements in teacher training, resources, and a cohesive, cross-government strategy with cross-party support.
